Getting ready for Easter!!

Jason and I were in the kitchen talking the other night and when we walked in the living room this is what we found. If you are a parent of more than one child, then you will agree when I say that this does not happen very often, but when it does it definitely warms your heart.Friday night was color egg night. We didn't do tons of eggs, but it was still fun and the kids had a blast!!!

You can tell by the look on Austins face he was enjoying "throwing" the egg in the colored water. Jason told him to be careful, but I guess Daddy's careful and Austins careful have different meanings!!! We had to clean up quite a bit of colored water off the counter.

This was our finished product, and boy were they proud of their eggs.

This was my project for this morning. I had told my Mom that I would make a dessert for Easter, so when I started I had no clue what it was going to look like I just hoped that it would taste good no matter what it looked like. Besides the not even teeth, it is a little better than I thought it would. I probably will never have the patience to do this again, but.....

They thought the left over icing was great, even if it was pink!!

We hope you all have a good Easter, and not forget what we are really celebrating!!

Love the cake! I took the easy route...strawberry pie!
If you want to keep the counter clean next year, just throw down some wax paper, and use glass bowls for the dye. It worked really well for us, and all I had to do was wad up the paper, and throw the dishes in the dishwasher! Have a good week...get lots of rest...things will never be the same! :)
