Picture Time!

This picture session was totally unexpected. We had gone to Dayton to go shopping with Rachel and we no more walked into JCP and this lady came over to us and asked if we would like to get the kids pictures taken. She said she would give us pics for free plus a really good coupon. I knew it was past time to get Emilee and Austin's pictures taken, so I agreed. We did not have Austin with us though, so I decided to just get Emilee's taken since I had got Tyler's taken not too long ago.
Once we got up to the studio I realized she had flip flops on. So I told the lady to just not get her feet in any of the pics. Rebecca was with us and she suggested that she just go bare foot, and I love the way they turned out.
I have decided that this is the way to do it, totally unexpected. I did not stress over what she was going to wear or how she would smile, and they were great pics.

After I got Emilee's pics I knew I had better get Austin's done quickly if I wanted them to both be back while Maria is here, so off to JCP I went with Austin. This time I did stress a little, because he hates to get his pictures taken. He always sticks his tongue out or makes a funny face or something, but he did a really good job. It always helps when they take a liken to your child. And as soon as they were taken he was ready to go. He did not even want to look at them. He told the employees that he was tired of that place.

Emilee's Awards Banquet and Kindergarten Graduation.

This was Emilee's 1st Awards Banquet and she was really nervous. She told me before it started that earlier that day when they were practicing that everytime she went up front her legs would shake and she didn't want to have to go up on the platform "for the real thing." All in all she did a wonderful job. She received 2 awards. One for the highest pace average-runner up, and then 1 for being on Honor Roll. Jason and I are very proud of her.

This is her and her best friend, Kaitlynn. The were having a lot of fun showing off their trophys. The Graduation was on Friday night and this was the 2 Kindergarten Graduates before getting their gowns on. It was funny though. One was crying before the Graduation and the other was crying after Graduation. I think their nerves were shot.
This is what she had to put up with twice. I had put her hair in curlers before we left the house, but when I took them out the curl came out with the the curlers, so when we got to the church we tried it again and that time it worked.

This was the result.

She looked beautiful.

When I saw her start down the isle I just hoped that she would make it. She had a look of terror on her face, and I was hoping that she would not cry. (I waited until she was past me and then I lost it.) I knew that if she saw me crying that would be the end of it, so I just smiled really big and she kept looking at me and she made it all the way to her seat!!!

Kaitlynn looked beautiful and happy also.
My dad saying the prayer. One very happy little girl.1st grade, here they come!!!
We were a very happy and proud little family.
And this was almost everyone that came just for her. Congratulations Emilee!!

The reason behind not posting much lately.

I decided that I would like to paint our Kitchen since it has been the same color since we moved in 8 years ago. So I had been wanting to paint it a red color, and I finally found a color that Jason and I agreed on so.....we started painting. We painted and painted and painted, and after 4 coats and it still was not like I wanted it, we finally called it quits. After a week of looking at it I decided to get flat paint and try that since we had started out with semi-gloss. I called my mom and have it almost finished and it is finally looking like what I want it too. We still have to go around the ceiling and touch up a few spots, but I think it looks nice.
So here is what my kitchen looked like for a little over 7 years. And this is what it now looks like. Please excuse the lights in the windows, but sometime during painting the one quit working.

Sorry I do not have any pics of the dining room before I started because when I remembered to take pictures, I had already started tearing off the border, but I am really happy with the way it has turned out so far.
We also have had to landscape the front of our house. This spring when everything started turning green I noticed that several of our bushes were not doing anything. 4 bushes out of our 8 had died and I can't say that I was really sad. I have not been real happy with the way our landscaping has been, so I decided it was time to do something else. I am not 100% happy with the new look and I think it is because the bushes are still small, but hopefully I will like it and it will be what I have visioned here pretty soon.
